Killing distractions!

Few days back I was talking to my friend who wants to Give CET but isn't able to concentrate, there are many distractions in her life, which makes it difficult to her to concentrate. So, I decided to write a blog on distractions according to my understanding.  When I researched upon Distractions- I got a definition of Distraction on wiki Which was:    Distraction is the process of diverting the attention of an individual or group from a desired area of focus and thereby blocking or diminishing the reception of desired information. Distraction is caused by: the lack of ability to pay attention; lack of interest in the object of attention; or the great intensity, novelty or attractiveness of something other than the object of attention. Well sorry for lots of jargons!😂😂 But in simple words according to me, Distractions are everything that seems more interesting than our duty.  You will always have 2 options anyways: Maths class or party, vadapav/pizza etc or ghar ka khana, Instagr...

Optimism

Hey!! Good to see you back again. Today we are going to talk about optimism.  Now what is optimism? You might be wondering about it ,right? So let's discuss and understand what optimism is. Optimism is merely a feeling that whatever will happen to me in present or future will be good. Everything has something good for me! Just think if everyone around in the world being so enthusiastic and positive! The world would have been on next level. N ow, let's learn something about optimism  by below story. The patient by the window! Once upon a time, a patient, severely ill, was admitted to a hospital. He was bed ridden & could not move. He was feeling miserable & his condition had made him really negative & pessimistic about life.He was shifted to a room which had only one window & the bed near the window was occupied by another patient. Every afternoon, when the patient by the window could sit up, he would pass the time by describing to his roommate all the bea...

Anger Management

Hey,hi! Good to see you back again. By the way have you seen the above picture?! I feel most of you have!😂 And if you have seen it, you can hear this picture🤣 Yesterday I went through an article of laughing therapy, which reminded me of Boman Irani sir's role in Munna Bhai- MBBS, who used it as a way of anger management. So, I thought let's complete the anger series. So here I'm with an another amazing topic of Anger: Part 2 Well in the last part of our blog we saw the reasons why we get anger and how the brain works during such situations. If you haven't read the previous blog, you can visit here . In this part we are going to see some techniques to effective anger  management. What is Anger management? Anger is a normal and healthy emotion, but sometimes it can become overwhelming and then turns rampant. Anger is ok until it turns into an habit. We see some people get into that short temper habit. When anger becomes an habit it destroys your relationship a...

Pause!

Hello!! So if you are here, now pause on until next 10 minutes, this will definitely change your life!! Once a bird was searching for a home to lay her eggs and get shelter in this heavy rainy season. In her search she saw 2 trees and ask first one for shelter. But the first tree refused to give her shelter. The bird got very disappointed, now she went to the second tree and hopefully it agreed. She made her home and layed her eggs. Now the rainy season had arrived, bird was very happy and grateful that she got shelter. At the same time she saw that the first tree had felt down because of heavy rains and it got carried away by flood. The bird saw this and she taunted it " See this is your karma, now God has given you this punishment. " To which the tree smiled and said, " I knew I'm not going to survive this rainy season that's why I refused you. I didn't want to risk your and your children's lives. Which just stunned the bird and she became silent. S...

Decision making - An Important skill!

Yesterday I revisited 2nd adhyaya of Bhagwadgeeta, through my beloved friend -  Nisha Channe's blog . She is the youngest individual to write Shrimad Bhagwadgeeta-according to today's era. If you wish to visit her blog ,just click here Coming back to the point,I personally feel 2nd adhyaya of Bhagwadgeeta is important. In this adhyaya is where Arjuna expressed his dillemas regarding the kurukshetra yuddha. He expressed his fears regarding losing his own kins, and hence wanted to back off from the fight. Here shri krishna played a role of counsellor in the life of Arjuna. He guided him from confusion towards a conclusion. And that is why I felt to write a blog on decision making. Decision making is one among the most important skill,an individual must have. Many a times we have dillemas just like Arjuna had, whether to do or not to do. Should I take this course or should I not? Should I talk about it or should I not? Should I do this or not? Will it be appropriate ? What will m...

Empathy- A Magical Tool!

I am sure many of you may agree when I say that it is the situation where we think, “ what is the right thing to say in this case ?” Uncertainty of corona has hit us all in different ways. Some of us are lucky to be strong and positive. Some of us have been feeling slightly worried or negative. Social distancing has made us make video calls or calls to our friends in the hope that we will feel better after talking to them This is where my problem started. I have been fortunate to be very positive in these times. But when a friend called me and said, “You know I am feeling so anxious that this is going to be the end of world”, I have been at a loss of words. I was racking my brain quickly, praying that it works faster than the fastest computer to come up with a, hopefully, pre-fed correct response. Unfortunately that didn't happen. If these were the normal days I would have told her that let's meet and you'll feel better. But here words would only save me and I had terribly ...

Positive reinforcement

Effects of positive reinforcement! I have to give credits to my mom-dad and My beloved mentors for encouraging me do various things, explore my interests in this period of lockdown, this blog page is also a result of that encouragement. Back then in last August I wrote my first write-up and considered sending it to my professor Abhra Sir  and my mentor RC sir  to which I got an amazing feedback :- Very good!  Seeing this feedback my mom encouraged me to write blogs on Psychology subject and create awareness regarding mental health. I obviously took this encouragement very seriously and this blog of 13  (Now 14) posts is an ultimate result! My mom positively reinforced & engaged me into something I love and it makes me feel better! Positive reinforcement is basically small things that make you feel better and make you do something again and again like chocolates, praise, money, talking to friends etc . For example, if you give a kid a chocolate for cleaning a room, he/she will probabl...
