Hey,hi!
Good to see you back again.
By the way have you seen the above picture?! I feel most of you have!😂
And if you have seen it, you can hear this picture🤣
Yesterday I went through an article of laughing therapy, which reminded me of Boman Irani sir's role in Munna Bhai- MBBS, who used it as a way of anger management.
So, I thought let's complete the anger series.
So here I'm with an another amazing topic of Anger: Part 2
Well in the last part of our blog we saw the reasons why we get anger and how the brain works during such situations.
If you haven't read the previous blog, you can visit here.
In this part we are going to see some techniques to effective anger management.
What is Anger management?
Anger is a normal and healthy emotion, but sometimes it can become overwhelming and then turns rampant.
Anger is ok until it turns into an habit. We see some people get into that short temper habit. When anger becomes an habit it destroys your relationship and close bonds.
This is why anger management becomes very important.
Anger management teaches you how to control your anger, how to control your temper. However it's a myth that taking a session on anger management will make you anger free, because it's all within you. External things will not work, but your actions after taking session will matter. How you choose to respond to anger provoking situations is important.
So yes let's move towards our 'practical' anger management techniques:
I remember when I was small and I would become angry my mamma used to tell me that count 100 to 1 reverse way! Even most of you all might have experienced your mamma saying this. That time I used to be confused that why is it so, but it used to help. But as we grow we become intelligent too. And then suddenly mamma turns old-fashioned! But this was something scientific all our mamma's used to tell.
When under control of emotions we are not able to use our logical brain, so this reverse counting will activate our logical thinking. So here I'm with My first tip, which I use mostly:
1.Do something that will activate your logical brain !Yes do something that will activate your logical brain,it maybe doing contemplation of your feelings, thoughts, or solving your math problems 🙃😂 (then your brain will say it's better to be not angry if you are asked to solve math problem as a coping style😂) Jokes apart.
This will activate your logical brain and you will be able to take the situation logically not emotionally.
2. Channelize your energy:
Most of us have seen people or might be having some in their life, who are with that 'फोड देंगे !' attitude.
Basically there is an energy generated when you become angry, that is why most of people's body becomes hot and some might turn red. So use that energy positively. Maybe you can put out a good run, or some cardio exercises like burpees or squats. This will help you to lower down your aggressiveness in such situation.
3.Identify your triggers.
Anger is a natural emotion, but it is very energy consuming and if we tend to hold it on, we are actually hurting ourself.
"Holding on to anger is like grasping a hot coal with intent of throwing it at someone else, but you are the one who gets burned."- Buddha
So let's do some smart work, let's try to identify our triggers. Identify what makes you angry, what triggers you to be angry. When you understand what makes you angry you will automatically be self aware and try to avoid such things, and even it happens your acceptance level increases.
So yes these were the 3 techniques which I use in my life and have proven very effective. So I thought I should share it with you, because sharing is caring!
Thank you so much readers for your amazing response to my blogs. Your comments really encourage me to bring more and more such topics.
Thank you!
