Optimism

Hey!!

Good to see you back again. Today we are going to talk about optimism.

Now what is optimism? You might be wondering about it ,right?
So let's discuss and understand what optimism is.
Optimism is merely a feeling that whatever will happen to me in present or future will be good. Everything has something good for me!
Just think if everyone around in the world being so enthusiastic and positive! The world would have been on next level.
Now, let's learn something about optimism  by below story.

The patient by the window!

Once upon a time, a patient, severely ill, was admitted to a hospital. He was bed ridden & could not move.
He was feeling miserable & his condition had made him really negative & pessimistic about life.He was shifted to a room which had only one window & the bed near the window was occupied by another patient.
Every afternoon, when the patient by the window could sit up, he would pass the time by describing to his roommate all the beautiful things he could see outside the window. The patient by the window would do this so that he could cheer up his roommate & give him hope.
And sure it did work. Soon they became friends. Both would talk, from their respective beds, about their families, their childhood, & talk about life in general.
One unfortunate day, the patient by the window was critical & later he passed away.
The roommate with a heart full of gratitude thanked his friend - the patient by the window - for giving him hope & a new life. With a heavy heart & tears in his eyes he asked the nurse to shift him to the bed near the window. He thought this way he will see all the beautiful things his late friend used to describe & talk about.
The nurse shifted him but to his surprise there was no view from the window. The window faced a concrete wall.Shocked by this the roommate was trying to make sense of this when the nurse said, "The patient by the window was blind & knew he had limited time to live."
Still he had that immense optimistic attitude towards life that he helped recover an ill person.

Optimism, Not ignorance!

It is'nt that optimistic people overestimate their capacity, but they have a strong belief in their mind that there is something positive, just like the blind man in the story!
Some days ago, I heard a quote which may relate for the topic.

When you get what you want, be grateful
When you don't get what you want, be even more grateful!
Because god might be planning something really huge for you.

Effects of optimism.

Optimism has amazing effects on physical as well as mental health. Obviously complaining mode takes you to all the negative sides of the situation but optimism makes you feel blessed in the situation.
How?
For example: You and your friend were travelling to goa. And the vehicle gets punctured right in 10 -15 minutes after starting the journey. What will be your thoughts? The optimistic person here will think that thank god it got punctured right in the start, if it would have got punctured in the middle of the road it would have been more difficult. But the pessimist one will go into complaining mode which will surely ruin his entire day!
I'm not saying that people are born optimistic or pessimistic, it's the mindset which makes them.
And the good news is you can always work on yourself.

Remember, pessimism is a reaction, but optimism is a choice!

Wishing you all a great sunday!

Thank you!

Road to forgiveness

Hello!  How are you? I hope you're fine and in good health. Today I'm back with another blog Road to Forgiveness. So before we move on I'd love to tell you an incident which happened with me, 2 days before. Now as the conditions are starting to become normal, colleges have started to freely function and so did mine.  So every morning I travel by bus to my college and I love that journey. Since my childhood I've been that wanderlust person, who enjoys the journey be it by bus, or any other transport, especially in the mornings. There are lesser people out there and sun is just leaving it's home. It's just so beautiful! So I was clicking the pictures from the window (offcourse I'm a window seat person :) ) as the bus stopped at a place. A lady climbed in at that stop, and then as she was planning to sit near me there was a speed breaker so the lady trembled and she accidentally dropped my bag which was kept on that seat, in an attempt to handover it to me...

Pause!

Hello!! So if you are here, now pause on until next 10 minutes, this will definitely change your life!! Once a bird was searching for a home to lay her eggs and get shelter in this heavy rainy season. In her search she saw 2 trees and ask first one for shelter. But the first tree refused to give her shelter. The bird got very disappointed, now she went to the second tree and hopefully it agreed. She made her home and layed her eggs. Now the rainy season had arrived, bird was very happy and grateful that she got shelter. At the same time she saw that the first tree had felt down because of heavy rains and it got carried away by flood. The bird saw this and she taunted it " See this is your karma, now God has given you this punishment. " To which the tree smiled and said, " I knew I'm not going to survive this rainy season that's why I refused you. I didn't want to risk your and your children's lives. Which just stunned the bird and she became silent. S...

Phubbing

Hey hi! How are you? I hope you're fine. Good to see you back. Last week I had a get together with my friends. We had a good chitchat in the first 30 minutes had good food but it only ended up like this shown in the above picture. Well that was not the first time I had seen this scene, or you're seeing it. We all go through such scenes everyday. All thanks to Covid 19& smartphones!  And this very phenomena is called as phubbing. Making it more simple, phubbing involves using a smartphone while with people and interacting with the smartphone rather than the person or people present. Now you might wonder & say क्या ही फरक पडता हे! Because Phubbing may seem like a relatively harmless or simply annoying, part of modern life, many of us have even got used to it. But research is finding that it may have a significant impact on your mental health. How? Lets see! When someone phubs you, you may feel rejected, excluded, and not important because we all are part of this amazin...
